In
the heart of a small wild valley in the Ardèche, along the river
Roubreau, hidden by lush vegetation of holm oak and strawberry trees,
there lies hidden a wonderful rose garden. We began creating it
in 1984, laying out borders and building pergolas and it now boasts
600 different species and varieties of rose.
They thrive in our poor stony soil without fertilisers or synthetic
pesticides. In our rose garden we carefully study each variety before
multiplying it so that we know exactly what we are selling.
In order to preserve the peace and quiet of the site, we open
the rose garden to the public only
one month a year when the blooms are at their best. During this
period we sometimes organise cultural
events around themes that fit perfectly with the setting
at of Berty.
We also spend time writing
and studying.
